Dorothy Stott

Mrs. Dorothy M. Clark has created children's art professionally since 1981 under her pen name, Dorothy Stott.

Her very first Children's Book was "Max Helps Out", a Little Golden Book.

Since this early time, Dorothy has created many successful projects with Dutton Children's Books, Scholastic and is known for the book covers for Janice VanCleave's "Play and Find Out" series published by John Wiley and Sons that have sold over two million copies to date.

Dorothy is best known for her characters with humorous antics including Henry and Hannah in the best selling "Potty Books/Dolls/DVD series" written by Alyssa Satin Capucilli, published by Barron's Educational Series. Her favorite client is The Cricket Magazine Group where her illustrations regularly appear in Babybug and Ladybug.

Mrs. Clark's paintings are traditionally hand made with watercolors on Arches bright white 140lb rough paper. She uses Winsor & Newton and Holbein watercolor paints with no synthetic colors. She takes great pride in not being a computer artist in the least bit and her paintings are part of the JP Morgan permanent collection.

Her favorite place is in her Connecticut studio near where she grew up.
